Baukunst is a collective of creative technologists advancing the art of building companies at the frontiers of technology and design. We invest in and build with creative technologists of our time.

On May 4th and 5th, 2022, Baukunst gathered at The Interval at The Long Now— a prominent foundation for long-term thinking— to share projects, processes, and new areas of inquiry. In German, Baukunst means “the art of building.” The phrase served as a jumping off point for creative technologists to share and reflect on their work and to consider where we are headed as a species.

We believe individual genius is over-represented, and that the complex power of scenes is undervalued.

At Baukunst, we build companies. And also— we build the communities, experiences, products, and stories that shape how companies are built. The true art of building lies in setting the right culture and scene for something new and meaningful to begin, grow, scale, and endure.
